Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of the NewsHound.ai service (the "Service"), operated by NewsHound.ai ("NewsHound," "we," "our," "us"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account at mathew@newshound.ai.
3. Subscription and billing
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. Topup packs are one-time charges that never expire. Sales tax is calculated and collected by our payment processor (Stripe). You authorize NewsHound to charge your payment method for each billing period until you cancel.
4. Stories economy
Stories are the in-product unit of LLM consumption. The Story cost of every action is displayed in the UI before you initiate it. Subscription Stories reset on the first of each UTC month. Topup Stories do not expire and persist across plan changes.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of all content you submit to the Service, including past articles uploaded for voice training and any generated outputs. You grant NewsHound a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content solely to provide the Service. We do not train models on your content. Generated outputs are owned by you upon creation.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- generate or distribute content you know to be defamatory, harassing, or unlawful;
- impersonate real people or organizations in a manner intended to deceive readers;
- publish AI-generated content without applying the editorial judgment a journalist would normally apply;
- reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract the underlying models powering the Service;
- circumvent the Stories quota system or other usage limits.
7. AI outputs disclaimer
Generated content may contain inaccuracies. You are responsible for editorial review, fact-checking, and attribution of every published piece. The Service is a tool — not a publisher — and final responsibility for published content rests with you.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account for material breach of these Terms. You may cancel at any time from the billing page; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NewsHound's aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will not exceed the fees you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email and in the product at least 14 days before they take effect.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Utah.
